Cometic 4-Cycle MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) Head Gaskets are engineered for maximum performance, durability, and reliability. The outer layers are embossed and coated on both sides with Viton, a rubber-based material that withstands temperatures up to 482°F (250°C). This ensures a robust seal capable of handling demanding sealing environments, varied load conditions, and diverse surface finishes. The gaskets feature Load Control Embossments (LCE) that distribute torque evenly across the sealing surface, minimizing bore distortion and enhancing piston ring sealing for improved power. The uncoated stainless steel center layer, or shim, is adjustable to accommodate different thickness requirements, making these gaskets suitable for applications involving aluminum heads with aluminum blocks or aluminum heads with cast iron blocks.
