The Hot Rod Kit LT80/KSF80 offers heavy-duty OE replacement connecting rods crafted from certified 8620 AISI steel for superior strength. These rods feature high-tech crank and wrist bearings, including a silver-coated crank pin bearing for improved sliding and reduced temperatures. The crankpins are made from hot-rolled ASTM 4115 and case-hardened to a level of 58-62Rc, ensuring durability and longevity at high RPMs. The kit includes connecting rod, crank pin, crank bearing, wrist pin bearing, and phosphor bronze thrust washers. The big end of the rod is uniquely designed with side scalloping and vent slots to minimize bearing race distortion at high RPMs. The small ends are double-drilled to enhance lubrication and cooling of the wrist pin bearing. The connecting rods are shot-peened to eliminate surface stress risers and are double-honed for an ultra-round bearing surface for high-RPM reliability. Additionally, the rods are copper-coated to protect against brittleness during the case-hardening process, and they are compatible with both Hot Rods and OE crankshafts.
